Vincci Hotels obtains the Travelife Gold certificate in several of its establishments.

The hotel chain has achieved the highest recognition granted by Travelife, the Gold certificate, in six of its establishments. This internationally recognized certification endorse sustainable practices in the tourism sector and recognizes the work of Vincci Hotels which, since its foundation, has been firmly committed to it social and environmental surroundings, applying a global model of sustainable growth.

Vincci Hotels has obtained the Travelife Gold environmental certificate in six of its establishments as part of its commitment to its social and environmental surrounding and its commitment to contributing to sustainable tourism{ 3>. The following hotels have been granted this award: Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* (Málaga), Vincci Málaga 4* (Málaga), Vincci Selección Estrella del Mar 5* (Marbella, Málaga), Vincci Selección La Plantación del Sur 5* (Tenerife), Vincci Costa Golf 4* (Cádiz) y Vincci Tenerife Golf 4* (Tenerife). The certification body has granted them its highest recognition, the Gold award, for the work they do in the protection of the environment, respect for their cultural and social surroundings, as well as for their support for the local economy and care for their employees.

The Travelife certificate demonstrates that each of these hotels complies with sustainability and environmental standards that go beyond those required by other certifications such as ISO 14001, which the chain also has. Since its foundation, Vincci Hotels has set itself a series of objectives in which it prioritizes continuous improvement, resource optimization, consumption control, waste reduction and management, as well as respect and protection of the cultural and social environment in all the chain’s establishments, both hotels and headquarters. The company believes it is essential to integrate quality and environmental management in each of its hotels; to identify and comply with local, regional, state and European regulations in this area; prevent, as much as possible, pollution; and promote the saving of energy and natural resources, both at the chain level and individually at each hotel. That is why all processes are underlined by a firm environmental and social commitment which we have conveyed to both employees and suppliers.

At the chain level, Vincci Hotels has various credentials in this regard such as ISO 14001 certification, as a result of the integration of quality and environmental management in each of its hotels and the Q Certification for Tourism Quality 3}, granted by the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE) under Standard UNE 182001. It has also received other awards such as the Tourism Medal of Merit awarded by the Ministry of Industry to the president of Vincci Hotels, Rufino Calero Cuevas, in the Sustainability and Quality category. The award recognized the businessman’s contribution in this matter to Spanish tourism.

Founded in 2007, the Travelife Sustainability System is an initiative dedicated to the promotion of sustainable practices in the tourism sector, which aims to offer companies knowledge, solutions and tools to implement a positive change in their businesses and their supply chain, and help hotels and other types of accommodation to manage their social and environmental impact, in addition to communicating their achievements to their customers. The associated hotels then undergo an external audit through which they can obtain a Bronze, Silver or Gold certificate. Nearly 17,000 accommodations worldwide have been registered in the Travelife Sustainability System; 1,500 have carried out an independent audit and 500 have been granted a Travelife certificate.
